Meet the School Board
David Green, WIAA Representative (2019-2020), was elected to the Board in the fall of 2017. Dave is a parent of two children who graduated from the Granite Falls High School and one currently living at home attending Granite Falls High School. Dave has volunteered with the school for over a dozen years with an emphasis on assisting in STEM programs. Dave helped bring the Boys & Girls Club into Granite Falls and is a mentor for their STEM programming. He has been in the aviation field for over 26 years working in lean business and planning, as well as a mechanic and technician in functional test of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and flight controls.

Robert Butler, Vice-President (2019-2020), was appointed to the Board on January 29, 2014 and elected to the position on November 3, 2015. Robert is a newer resident of the Granite Falls area, yet is already very active in the community. He is on the board of TECO, supports CTE programming, and enjoys watching high school football. He is married with three boys and one girl.

Dr. Richard (Dick) Panagos, Legislative Representative, was appointed to the Board on July 12, 2016, and elected to a four-year term in November 2017. He and his family have lived in Granite Falls for 23 years and have a grandson currently attending Granite Falls High School. Dr. Panagos is a retired educator who served as the principal at Granite Falls Middle School for 12 years (1996 - 2008). He is actively involved in community events and has been a member of the Granite Falls Education Foundation for the past eight years. Dick is an avid golfer who also continues to "bleed purple" for his alma mater, the Northwestern Wildcats.

Tina Yadon Veatch, Community Liaison (2019-2020), was appointed to the Board on July 11, 2018. Tina has been a member of the Granite Falls community for the past 15 years. Tina and her husband have six children attending school in the Granite Falls School District. For the past three years, they have had children at Mountain Way Elementary, Monte Cristo Elementary, Granite Falls Middle School and Granite Falls High School. Tina currently serves on the Granite Falls School District CTE Advisory Committee and the Instructional Materials Committee. For the past 12 years, Tina has volunteered as a parent and community member in each of her children's schools and classrooms. Tina Yadon Veatch is a certified Project Management Professional who has worked in the private sector at Microsoft and in the public sector for both the Department of Human Services and the State Treasurer's Office. Tina currently assists in running their family-owned custom cabinetry business.
When Tina is not caring for her family of 6 children, volunteering at the schools, her church, or the food bank distribution center, Tina enjoys a nap!!

Carl G. Cary, President (2019-2020), was elected to the school board on December 4, 2013, and has been an active member in the local community since 2009. Carl is married with two children. Carl currently works as a consultant for Lerch Bates. Carl enjoys coaching youth athletics and participating in helping to create better options for children in our community. He advocated bringing the Granite Falls Boys and Girls Club back to Granite. He is a leader in the Watch D.O.G.S. program and an active member of the Community Coalition. #WEAREGRANITE

SUPERINTENDENT / BOARD SECRETARY:
Dr. Josh Middleton became Superintendent of the Granite Falls School District on July 1st, 2019. Dr. Josh Middleton has worked in K-12 education for approximately 33 years as a teacher and coach and building administrator in Florida followed by becoming a superintendent in his home state of Montana. The 2019-20 school year will mark the start of Dr. M's 19th year as a district superintendent. He has five grown children and two young grandchildren spread across the country. Dr. Middleton's focus is always on students and student learning with an emphasis on literacy and post-secondary education and training for all students. Though no longer playing hockey, Dr. M is looking forward to attending Everett Silvertips games along with camping in this beautiful state. Dr. M earned his doctorate at Montana State University, Masters at Nova Southeastern, and Bachelors at the University of Utah.
