Each entrée is accompanied by fresh fruit, vegetable and salad bar selection along with a choice of 1% white milk or non-fat chocolate milk.
Menus: Are distributed monthly indicating daily entrée specials.
Eligible Families are Encouraged to Apply for Free and Reduced Meals:
The application process for participation in school meal programs is simple and confidential. Applications can be submitted ANY time during the school year. Households that experience a change in income due to job loss, or other circumstances, are encouraged to apply. Income eligibility is determined by federal guidelines.

Where Can I Pre-Pay Online, View Student Purchases or Request Low Balance Email Notifications?
Please visit Skyward Family Access on the GFSD web page or the Nutrition Services web page. Many parents enjoy the convenience of paying for meals online. It is our computerized system that allows families to access balances, view purchases, request low balance email notifications, or make payments 24 hours a day from your computer. Contact the school secretary and she will assign you a user name and password. There is no charge to view purchases, receive email notifications, or check balances. There is a $1.75 transaction fee to make an online payment. All balances follow your student into the next school year.

How can I learn more about applying for free and reduced priced meals?
If you think you might qualify under federal guidelines, please complete a current application. Applications are available at each school, the district office, or you can access a copy online at our department website on www.gfalls.wednet.edu. All information provided is kept confidential. Eligible students may receive Free Meals (No Charge) or Reduced Price ($0.40). Applications are accepted all year long. According to government guidelines our office has 10 working days to process an application once received by food services. Turning in an application does not automatically approve a child for free or reduced meals. A family will be notified by mail of their status or they can call the Nutrition Office to check the status of their application. We do our best to approve them as soon as they are received. Until officially approved by the child nutrition office the family is responsible for any student food purchases accrued. To qualify for these programs a guardian must fill out an application every calendar year and submit it to the Food & Nutrition Office. Eligible students are based on total household income levels, household members, and/or federal assistance program qualifications (i.e. TANF, FDPIR, BASIC FOOD). Please note: If you have a child approved for free or reduced meals any a la carte purchases (ie. Extra milk for $0.50, extra entrée or any snack item) will need to be paid for.

Do you allow a student to charge a meal?
There is no charging allowed at the middle or high school, but we do allow an elementary student to charge up to 2 meals and will not exceed a $6.00 negative account balance. This is allowed for elementary students because there are increased variables for money to be misplaced for this age group. (i.e. 2 lunches at $3.00 each = $6.00) (i.e. 2 reduced lunches at $0.40 each = $0.80). At the end of the year we do our best to ensure that all student accounts are in good standing. From May 15th until the end of the school year the elementary schools have a “no charge policy” so the department can recoup all negative balances.
-
What is a courtesy lunch or breakfast?
The Courtesy Breakfast or Lunch option is available to prevent any student from going hungry without a meal. A courtesy meal will be served if a student does not have sufficient funds on their account. Our courtesy breakfast consists of Cereal and 1% white milk and our courtesy lunch consists of a whole wheat cheese sandwich and a 1% white milk. If a child received a courtesy meal we send a notice home so the parent/guardian is notified.
