    Dear Granite Falls Families,

We are pleased to inform you that your student’s Spring 2024 state testing results have been mailed home. These assessments are an important part of understanding each student’s learning growth, as well as the progress of our educational system as a whole. Washington students take these state and federal assessments regularly to help ensure that schools continue to meet academic standards and support every student's success.

The results you will receive include scores for:

    • Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) or WA-AIM for English Language Arts (ELA) and Math for students in grades 3-8 and 10.

    • Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science or WA-AIM Science for students in grades 5, 8, and 11.

If you have any questions about your child’s test results, we encourage you to reach out directly to your child’s teacher, who can provide insights into their learning progress and how these scores reflect their academic growth. You can also contact the district office at communications@gfalls.wednet.edu if you have any further questions or need assistance.

For more information about Washington state assessments, please visit the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction’s (OSPI) assessment page at https://www.k12.wa.us/student-success/testing/state-testing-overview.

Thank you for your continued support of Granite Falls students. Together, we can help our students reach their full potential.

    Warm regards,

    Dana Geaslen
    Superintendent
    Granite Falls School District
