Graduation Requirements

  • Requirements for the Class of 2023 and Beyond

    • Earn 24.0 high school credits.
    • All students are required to complete 40 hours of community service prior to graduation
    • Complete a High School and Beyond Plan that covers all four years of high school and one year following graduation
    • Complete a Senior presentation regarding their beyond High School plan research and actions taken as well as personal budget and resume. A rubric for the presentation can be found here!
    • Meet the standard on Required State Assessments

    Office of Superintendent Public Instruction (OSPI):
    Public school students in Washington state must fulfill four graduation requirements to earn a certificate of academic achievement (CAA)/high school diploma. One of those requirements is to pass exit exams, or state-approved alternatives, in English language

  • Participation in Commencement

    In order to participate in the Granite Falls High School graduation exercise, students must have completed all GFHS and State of Washington diploma requirements. It is understood that the final responsibility for the credit and course requirement for graduation rests with the student and parent. The administration, counselors, and advisors are ready to assist any student or parent at any time regarding their status as far as meeting requirements for graduation.

  • Community Service

    All students are required to complete 40 hours of community service to graduate.  Many community service opportunities are available on the community service wall in the high school commons.  Students must complete a Community Service Form and turn into the Counseling Office.

    Options include but are not limited to the following:

    TECO, Boys and Girls Club, Sno-Isle Library, Museum, Food Bank, GF Town Hall, Senior Center, Eagles, American Legion, Police Dept, Non-profit Daycares, etc., Granite Falls Little League, Granite Falls Youth Soccer Club, The Village, Sound Solutions, Purrfect Pals, Psado Safe Haven, Sarvey Wildlife Center, Healing Hearts & Hopes (Mtn Loop Hwy), Church of Latter Day Saints, The Father's House, Bible Church, Sno County Parks & Rec, Verlot Ranger Station, Sno County Dept of Trans. (cleaning roadways), Youth United (Amy Franklin Youth Engagement Manager 425.374.5526). 

    See your counselor for prior approval of any community service opportunities not listed above or on the back of the Community Service Form.
