  • Letter To Our Crossroads Community

    Dear Crossroads Families,

I want to update you on an incident that occurred yesterday at Crossroads High School.  Yesterday afternoon our campus was temporarily placed in lockdown while we worked with the Granite Falls Police Department to investigate a threat reported by a student.  The threat, which was received through social media, was directed at one student and included a picture of a weapon. The lockdown was in place for approximately one hour and was lifted after police located the individual making the threat.  At that time we worked with GFPD and determined our campus was safe to return to normal activities.

I want to stress that our students were safe and at no time was there a weapon on campus.  The lockdown was precautionary. We take all threats seriously, as the safety of students and staff are our top priority.

For the safety of everyone involved, there are a number of things families can do to support us in these situations:

    • Do not come to the school campus.
    • Do not call the school office during the lockdown-staff are busy handling the emergency.
    • Avoid social media posts (posting specifics provided by your students has the potential to put them in danger)
    • Please encourage your students to report threats, concerns, unusual behavior, and/or information they may have about students who are suicidal.
    • Please make sure that your contact information is current at all times in case of an emergency.

Please look for this month’s newsletter which will contain information on the different types of lockdowns and drills. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time. If you have questions or concerns regarding the recent lockdown or any related matters, please do not hesitate to reach out at 360 283-4407.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Let's continue to prioritize safety and well-being as we move forward.

    Warm Regards,
