Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA)
The CKLA curriculum supports language development by using a knowledge-rich approach to reading. In the early grades, CKLA builds foundational reading skills through explicit phonics instruction. Students also engage with a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts across subjects like science, social studies, and the arts. The goal is to develop not only literacy skills but also a broad base of knowledge that enhances comprehension and critical thinking.i-Ready
i-Ready is an adaptive learning program used for both assessment and personalized instruction in math and reading. The diagnostic tool helps identify each student's skill levels and specific learning needs. Based on these results, i-Ready provides targeted, interactive lessons to reinforce strengths and address learning gaps. With regular assessments, teachers and parents can track progress and adjust learning goals, supporting each student's academic growth.Second Step
Second Step is a comprehensive social-emotional learning curriculum. It includes structured lessons on skills like empathy, managing emotions, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Through role-play, discussions, and real-life scenarios, students practice handling social challenges and building positive relationships. Second Step supports a respectful and inclusive school environment, aiming to create safer and more connected classrooms.FLASH (Family Life and Sexual Health)
FLASH is a health education curriculum that covers topics in human development, personal health, relationships, and safety. Designed with age-appropriate content, it emphasizes values of respect, informed decision-making, and personal responsibility. FLASH helps students understand their bodies, set personal boundaries, and develop healthy attitudes and behaviors. Parents are welcome to engage with the curriculum to support consistent messages at home.
