Sno-Isle Libraries Student Account Pilot Program
Sno-Isle Libraries Student Account Pilot Program

Granite Falls School District and Sno-Isle Libraries have established a pilot partnership to give K-12 students automatic access to public library resources using their student lunch number.

Lunch numbers will function as student library accounts, allowing students to:

  • Check out up to 10 physical items, such as books or DVDs, at any library
  • Download 20 digital items (eBooks or eAudiobooks) at a time
  • Access digital resources, including live homework help and research databases
  • Use computers with filtered internet access at any library

This is in addition to, and separate from, a library card that a student may already have. If a student already has a traditional Sno-Isle Libraries card, they will continue to be able to use it in addition to their student account.

To enable the use of a lunch number as a student library account, Granite Falls School District will share basic student information with Sno-Isle Libraries. This is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and no other information will be shared.

If you would like your child to access public library resources using their lunch number, you do not need to do anything. Your child will automatically receive access. If you do not want your child to access public library resources using their lunch number, please complete the online Opt-Out Form.

You can also contact Jennifer Sullivan, Student Success Coordinator (jsullivan@sno-isle.org) or Michelle Callihan, Granite Falls Library Manager (mcallihan@sno-isle.org).

We look forward to joining with you in this partnership, which will give students greater access to resources that will help them succeed in school and beyond.
