Temporary COVID-19 Accommodation Request


We have created an expedited process to request a temporary workplace accommodation for employees with an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This expedited process may reduce the need for medical documentation in many cases where temporary accommodations are appropriate.

Sample accommodations include continued additional safety supplies, remote work, alternative work locations, position reassignment, or additional physical distancing measures. If we are unable to find an accommodation that meets the health need of the employee while allowing the employee to accomplish the essential functions of their position, we may grant a leave of absence as defined under your bargaining agreement.

Human Resources, the employee, and their supervisor will use an interactive process to review position responsibilities, employee limitations, and the potential impact of reasonable accommodations.

Medical information submitted will only be seen by Human Resources and will remain confidential.

For temporary COVID-19 related requests for work accommodations, we will not require medical documentation. If we are unable to provide an accommodation, due to the essential functions of the position, we will refer the employee to the leave options under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
