Mr. Holland's
Brief Auto-Biography
I am a
life time resident of Snohomish County. After graduating from Everett
High School in 1986, I decided to stay close to home and go to Everett
Community College where I earned my Associate of Arts Degree.
Prior to going on and earning my teaching certificate I entered the
workforce and had a lot of great experiences: Commercial Fishing all
over the waters of Washington & Alaska; Working in the automobile
industry; Working in the sheet metal industry where I belonged to Local
#66; and selling and repairing power equipment.
In
1997 I met and married my wife Lisa who is also a teacher for the
Granite Falls School District. It was her stories of teaching that
inspired me to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Shortly
after we were married I went back to school and earned my Bachelor of
Arts Degree from Western Washington University. Since then I have
earned my Master of Arts Degree
in education from Antioch University.
Currently, I live in Marysville with my wife and two beautiful
daughters; Kathryn (5-yrs. old) and Kaelyn (2-yrs. old). I enjoy playing
golf, fishing, landscaping, camping, hunting, and spending
time at the park swinging and on our boat swimming with the family.
I am
very excited to enter into my 7th year of teaching for the Granite Falls
School District. I am ready to enter the 2007/2008 school year
with a community of learners to help create a fun, safe, and inclusive
learning environment. |
