Early Childhood Education

The Granite Falls Early Learning Center contains two separate entities:

The Early Childhood Education Assistance Program (ECEAP) is for children ages three to five who qualify based on limited income.
Children in ECEAP attend four sessions per week, two and a half hours per session. Students receive one meal per session, family services, family nights, parent meetings, health and nutritional information, and educational home visits.

The Developmental Preschool is for children ages three to five who qualify with special learning or physical needs. Developmental Preschool students attend four sessions per week, two and a half hours per session. Teachers, speech/language specialists, and occupational therapists assist students with large or small motor skills, speech needs or other developmentally delayed areas. Children work individually, in small groups, or in a class setting.

Join the playgroup!
The District hosts a preschool community playgroup for children ages birth to five*. For dates and times, please call the numbers above.

Playgroups include music, story time, and time to interact with other children at various play centers. Parents have the opportunity to speak to special education teachers and therapists on developmental milestones, kindergarten readiness skills, and activities they can do at home to encourage cognitive, language, and articulation skills.
* Parents must accompany their child and stay for the entire session
