On time, on budget - despite the weather!
It is hard to believe sometimes, but construction of the new high school is over 40% complete. Unusually poor weather conditions continue to interfere with progress in some areas, yet the building remains on time and within budget. Weather permitting, the roofers continue their work with over half of the roof complete. Masonry workers began March 19 (you will be able to visually track that progress) and sheetrock work has started in one area of the building. As many as 100 workers can be on site on any given day and even more when it is not raining.

February 15, 2007 - The building continues to take shape
The details of the new high school are really taking shape. If you pass by, you can already tell what a beautiful school this is going to be. All of the slab work, with the exception of the gymnasium, has been poured at this time (the gym will be poured February 23). Nearly all of the structural steel is in place and the roofers are finishing up the blocking. There are as many as 80 workers on site each day as steel erecters, plumbers, electricians, mechanical workers, steel stud installers and other trades work side by side. The field turf has been ordered and we are finalizing a furniture order. The school is approximately 35% complete and the project remains on time and within budget.

January 17, 2007 - Wow! Check out the progress!
Be sure to drive by the construction site and see the progress on the new building. Enough of it is completed that one can really get a sense of what the building will look like. Even battling the worst weather on record, the contractor continues to make good progress. Approximately 3/4 of the structural steel is in place, half of the slabs are poured and the steel studs and roofing should start this week. Duct work is being installed and several air handling units are on site. The project remains on schedule and within budget.
